Definition and Area of Use :
This colorless salt is a glass etchant and an intermediate in the once considered hydrofluoric acid route. It is ammonium bifluoride or flaky crystal. It is easily soluble in water and can be easily dissolved. Ammonium hydrogen fluoride is produced from ammonia and hydrogen fluoride. Ammonium bifluoride was considered an intermediate in the production of hydrofluoric acid from hexafluorosilicic acid.
