Definition and Use :
It occurs in volcanic regions in nature. It is easy to produce ammonium chloride synthetically, mostly formed as a by-product in other industries. It is obtained as a by-product in the ammonia soda process, especially in the production of sodium carbonate. It is easily soluble in water, easily forms a slightly acidic solution. It can be used as a source of ammonia. It is used in the production of ammonium perchlorate. It is used as a feed supplement for cattle, in hair shampoos, textile printing, plywood binding glues, a component in the nutrient medium for yeasts, in cleaning products and also finds use in cough medicine. Other applications; as an electrolyte in dry batteries, as a pickling agent in zinc plating and tinning, as soldering fluxes to separate oxide coatings from metals and as improving the adhesion of solders.,
