Definition and Area of Use :
Manganese (II) sulfate is an inorganic compound with the formula MnSO4. This colorless, moist solid is a commercially important manganese (II) salt. In 2005, approximately 260M kg/y was produced worldwide. It is the precursor of manganese metal and many chemical compounds. Manganese-deficient soils are corrected with this salt.
Like many metal sulfates, manganese sulfate also forms various hydrates such as monohydrate, tetrahydrate, pentahydrate, heptahydrate. The most common of these is the monohydrate. All of these are pale pink in color.
