Definition and Areas of Use :
Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), an accepted contraction of sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), is an anionic detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.). SLES is a cheap and very effective foaming agent. SLES, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), ammonium lauryl sulfate (ALS) and sodium pareth sulfate are surfactants used in many cosmetic products for their cleaning and emulsifying properties. They act similar to soap.
Areas of Use
It is used in the production of liquid dishwashing and machine detergents, technical cleaning materials.
It is used to reduce surface tension in cosmetic cleaning products such as shampoo, soap, shower gel and bath foam. It is preferred for this process because it is easily diluted with salts and has a good foaming character.
It is used in the production of toothpaste.
