Areas of Use :
Sodium silicate is a chemical compound with the formula Na2(SiO2)nO. Sodium silicate is a substance known as water glass. Its general form is colorless. However, in commercially used derivatives, they can take on a green or blue color with foreign substances. Sodium silicate is frequently used in the cement sector, textiles, lumber processing industry, automobiles and refractory materials. It can occur as a result of the reaction of sodium carbonate and silicon dioxide substances.
Sodium silicate is a colorless and clear compound. This substance, also known as water glass or water-soluble glass, is subject to different classifications according to its crystal structure. The classification method is the X-ray diffraction method. It takes a syrup-like structure when mixed with water. Some sodium silicates in different groups may not dissolve easily in water. The best way to dissolve these substances is to heat the water under pressure.
